Lights, Camera, Action

Below is another blog written by our “guest blogger” Monica Feid. Please read below to find out how Vent-A-Hood is used in the film industry today.

TV networks love them. Viewers cannot get enough of them. We’re talking about home improvement shows. They feed the need for transformations, for upgrades, for functionality, for staying relevant, for improving efficiencies, and for making a home continue to feel like a home.  Just roll the cameras and presto. You can go from old to new in 30 minutes. At Vent-A-Hood, we often accept requests to donate products for those TV shows.  It’s a chance to make a beautiful statement in the kitchen and give viewers some inspiration.  But, most recently, we were inspired as well.  A production company filming an episode for the A&E network was planning to update a kitchen and came across a rare find – A Vent-A-Hood range hood that had been manufactured around World War II.  Better yet, it still worked!  The model number was “001.” We’ve always regarded Vent-A-Hood’s craftsmanship and engineering as superior. It’s stories like these that prove it again and again.  We were proud to know that the existing range hood had performed so well.  And we were equally honored to offer an array of new designs and styles to choose from that are sure to do the same for years to come.  Yes, it’s good to be a star! We’re looking forward to another appearance on the small screen. Meanwhile, for people who want a range hood that will last a long, long time, we suggest they click here: Vent-A-Hood

Social Media

Social media is a new category to the business world and has really boomed in the past few years. As you look around our modern world, one thing you will notice is that social media is everywhere! You, the reader will run into some type of social media on a daily basis by watching TV, going to company websites, and many other places. The purpose of this post is to talk about social media and what it means to Ventahood and how we want to use every means possible to show off our product. We started our social media adventure a couple of years back with a page on facebook. (link facebook page here). While on Facebook, we realized the power of this new media and wanted to explore it more. Our facebook experience has been  great and we have many people who “like” us. If you are not one of those, please check us out, I promise you will not be sorry! We expanded a social media reach and started a Twitter page in the spring/summer of 2011. We found Twitter to be another  way to promote our product by  typing in a “status” of such about Ventahood. This helped us learn about this new generation and a more current way of promoting our product unlike anything in our 78-year history. FYI, Ventahood was founded in 1933 and  advertising has evolved from  door to door sales, followed by a catalog and now online with website information and social media.   We are also on LinkedIn as a group and soon to be a company page that you can “follow” as well. Also, last but not least, we have this blog, to let you, the customer and reader, know about our product in an all-new way.  We hope that you take advantage of all of these new ways to get information.

Taking the Heat

From time to time, we will have a “guest blogger”. The following is from our first guest blogger. I hope you enjoy this post.

It’s not hard to notice that we’re smack dab in the middle of Summer. It has been above 100 degrees for weeks in Texas. Step outside our corporate headquarters in Richardson, and it feels like you’re walking on the sun.  It’s a blinding reminder of what a kitchen can feel like when you don’t have the right cooking ventilation. The heat that comes off a cooking surface needs to go somewhere. And that somewhere shouldn’t be the inside of your home. That is why Vent-A-Hood manufactures superior range hoods with a powerful Magic Lung blower and a wide active canopy to capture the rising smoke, odors, cooking contaminants and, yes, HEAT. Then we specify the necessary ducting to direct that air to the outside of the home. If you can’t stand the heat, don’t get out of the kitchen. Get a Vent-A-Hood range hood and take the heat outside where it belongs.

Yes, it’s that EZ

Vent-A-Hood would like to announce a new way to clean our product. After learning about this new cleaning method you too will say it was that EZ. We are proud to announce: the EZ clean tray. The EZ clean tray is a stainless steel tray that fits right under the “magic lung” blower to make it much easier to clean and dispose of the grease that has been captured from heavy use and cooking. The EZ tray is a slide out tray that can be used on inside or outside Vent-A-Hood’s. The EZ tray can be applied to any existing Ventahood canopy , or an inside Ventahood . Also it can be added to outside vent-A-Hood’s as a feature over the BBQ. This feature is a big improvement to the function of the hood. The tray itself can be cleaned in a dishwasher with out taking apart the magic lung blower housing. So, now cleaning your Ventahood is as easy as 1-2-3.Here is how it works: Step one: Un-snap the E-Z Clean collection tray, step two: discard the collected contaminants and step three: re-install the E-Z Clean collection tray.  For more information on this, please click  Vent-A-Hood.
